Walgreen World

A real-life candy man deserves some real-life candy type.

Walgreen's internal magazine, Walgreen World, kept employees up-to-date on all the inner workings of the company and was designed by the team at HDG for years before going totally digital. 

For this feature, from 2017, I created a candy type intro spread to accompany a 4-page profile on the person who is in charge of candy merchandising at Walgreens. I also designed the layout and coordinated and art-directed the on-premise photoshoot.

The process was pretty straightforward —

I created the layout in Illustrator to fit the page design, combining Walgreen's brand font at the time (Helvetica Rounded) with Marana to build the blueprint for the photo. It took 2 days and hundreds of pieces of candy placed with a pair of tweezers to get it just right.
